The dream of Phyllis Kalbach (a college professor, teacher, author, and former small book store owner) is to establish a worldwide forum where readers and writers connect. In this community of support, creative work is sold, discussed and promoted on the Books and Scribes website.

Authors will enjoy a worldwide forum where their work is viewed, read, promoted, discussed and advertised.

Authors, beginning and established, will enjoy a creative forum for learning, teaching, critiquing, and developing ideas for publication.

Readers will browse the cyber shelves and find fascinating fiction, informative nonfiction, poetry, short essays and stories that are not easily found in the large bookstores.

Readers will download a small portion of a chosen work for review. They will then purchase the entire piece, review it, discuss it, and critique it online.

Author membership in Books and Scribes is required in order to ensure the integrity and protection of our writing and critiquing forums.

A small annual fee of $24.00 ($2.00 a month) ensures exclusive membership in the writing forum and book club. These fees also ensure our website is maintained and protected.

For an additional $40.00 a year, authors can rent cyber shelf space to display and sell their work. A 10% commission per purchase will be charged.
